Hi Everyone!

Hi all,

Welcome to my blog! My name is Alex, and this is going to be my area where I can blog about what happens in my daily life and at the same time making it interesting to read and be full of helpful advice for all of you.

Something I care greatly about is my faith, and how my faith affects my daily life and also those around me. I am a Christian and nothing pleases me more than sharing Jesus with others. Hopefully by leading a Christian life I can lead them to Jesus so that they too will realize the price He paid for us by dying on the cross and rising again in glory.

Much of my blog will be about my Christian faith, my ministry and youth work within our local churches and how all of these effect my daily life. I aim to post my thoughts on the scriptures that I am currently reflecting on, talks and activities for use with services and lots of other things too.

Away from my Christian faith, I am an avid Motorsport fan, so I will also be talking about that a fair bit too.

Anyway enough from me for now. I look forward to sharing my life with you in the future.

Many blessings,

Alex

Philippians 4:13

‘I can do all things through him who strengthens me’
Philippians 4:13

By now you are most probably wanting to know why I have chosen this piece of scripture for the tag line of this blog.

I should at this point stress that it does not mean what the average person would think. Most people would read that and think that God would bless whatever I choose to do in life and I will therefore be successful at it. However, the true meaning is this: God gives believers the strength to do whatever he asks them to do.

To truly understand you need to put this into context with the previous verse:

‘I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.’
Philippians 4:12-13

Paul learnt that doing everything through Christ Jesus, he could be content in everything no matter what the outcome. It is not what you achieve in life that is important, it is about how you do things.

Being content with everything in life no matter what the outcome is going to be, would be wonderful and something that I should always strive to achieve. That is the promise of the scriptures and the reason why for this blog Philippians 4:13 is so true. I need to be content with however successful or not this blog is and also it should echo my day to day life.

There are many other examples in the scripture where this understanding can be further strengthened. Isaiah 40:29-31, Ephesians 3:16, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 to name but a few. I will endeavour to look at these scriptures in greater depth in the future.
